Waves and radiations. X-ray beams

you are: Waves and radiations

The X-ray has made the important opening that beams operate on photographic emulsiju, and used this effect for an illustration of some of the conclusions. The X-ray did not manage to find out neither thermal action of new beams, nor their any action on an eye retina. It approached an eye closely to a digit tube - everyone who knows about dangerous action of these beams on a living tissue, can be horrified from similar experiment!

The X-ray has not found out refraction of the beams opened by it in the prisms made of aluminium and rubber. It could not cause a deviation of beams electric or magnetic fields and has not found out any interferentsionnyh the phenomena. One positive result of searches of the scientist to which it has come later, consisted that beams discharged the electrified bodies.

Thus, the weeks spent by the X-ray on experiments, have not resulted in any certain results. Unique law which managed to it to be established, consisted that heavier chemical elements absorbed beams more strongly, than lungs, in difference of light which is completely absorbed by a thin layer of aluminium, but easily passes through a layer of lead glass. Besides it, anything, probably, it was not possible to explain: new beams were not similar neither to light, nor on beams in a digit tube which for example, easily deviated a magnet. The X-ray has published results of the work and modestly named the radiation opened by it ' iks-beams '. This opening has shaken everything, not only scientific, the world. X-ray beams have quickly found practical application in medicine and in the technician, but the problem of their nature remained one of the major in the physicist. X-rays have excited again dispute between supporters of the corpuscular and wave nature of light, and the set of experiments on purpose was set as to solve a problem.
